Here we are again. Seven days post ovulation in the dreaded two week wait. I haven’t been posting much, so my apologies for that. We have been without internet in the new house for little under two weeks now, which is driving me insane! Virgin Media have assured us that they will be with us this Wednesday, so fingers crossed I will be here a little more often from then.
This month I had a very early ovulation for me. I’ve been using the clearblue advanced digital OPKs as well as my cheapies, and the cleapies actually picked up the surge on day sixteen! I was still gettting a blank face on the Clearblue tests, but we did a donation anyhow. The next day, the cheapie was still positive and the Clearblue finally caught up! It went from blank face to solid smiley straight away, with no flashing smiley in the middle. Amazingly on the second day of peak on the digitals, the cheapie went negative and that later turned out to be ovulation day. So, needless to say I won’t be bothering with the Clearblue ones again.
This was the second month of Clomid 50mg and I was hopeful that ovulation would be a bit stronger and my temps a little bit higher than last cycle. Needless to say, Ovusense had another meltdown one day post ovulation (whilst still telling me I wasn’t ovulating yet) and deleted my data. I’ve been given instructions for reset, but the thing is in a drawer at the moment as I just can’t be bothered with it. It broke at the most crucial time of my cycle when I needed those temps to confirm ovulation, so I wasn’t impressed! Five months using it and two breaks in that time? Nah. Part two of my Ovusense review will be coming up in the coming few days once internet is restored at home.
So, with Ovusense locked in a drawer, possibly never to see the light of day again, I reverted to normal BBT temping. Consequently, the temps on my chart are only real temps from about four days before I ovulated, so don’t get too excited about how beautiful my pre ovulation temps are. The post ovulation temps however are TOTALLY unusual for me. My temp usually rises until 3dpo and then starts to plateau and drop. I’ve overlayed my charts from the last three months and, as you can see, this month’s temp is much MUCH higher than anything previous.
All we can do at this point, of course, is cross fingers and hope for the best. We had donations two days before ovulation and the day of ovulation, so our timing was pretty good. All we can do is hope that the measly 20% chance is on our side this cycle.
Lucky 24, I hope!
I hope so too!
Clearblue Advanced digital are the worse. One cycle I had four days of flashing smiley faces.
The pink ones have always worked fine for me, but I really wasn’t sure with these ones. And it went “no smiley… no smiley… SMILEY!” but a day later than my cheapies. Just shows that expensive doesnt necessarily mean the best
Fingers crossed for this month, and thanks for nothing Clearblue!!! Xx
