Do you ever look at silly signs and superstitions when trying to conceive? Me and a few friends have a funning joke about seeing ladybirds (ladybugs in the USA) meaning that you are pregnant, which spawned from a woman actually asking on a forum if seeing more ladybirds meant she was…
Amy I have an ongoing magpie related game. I’m not sure how well known this little rhyme is outside of the UK (or outside of our house really) but it goes like this.
One for sorrow, Two for joy, Three for a girl, Four for a boy. Five for silver, Six for gold, Seven for a secret never to be told.
Youi get how it goes. Count the magpies – expect your joy etc etc. Around the time we concieved Squishy, we saw nothing but pairs of magpies. Maybe something to do with the fact that it was May and probably magpie mating season, but still.
So, the other day Amy saw fourteen magpies. What on earth does that “mean”?
I’m guessing it means all of the babies. ALL of the babies…
Tell me about any silly games you guys play to keep the trying to concieve blues at bay?
