Welcome to 2015

Well, here is is! 2015! It’s off to a good start. Today, I did the food shop and took the dogs for a walk. Productive, right?

I’m not one to make new year’s resolutions. I hate all of this “new year, new me” stuff. I used to pay into that stuff big style, but over time I’ve learnt that I shouldn’t constantly be trying to be a “new me”, just improving the same old me as I go along.

2014 wasn’t a great year, as I discussed in my last post, so I am very glad to see it go. Here’s a few things that I am looking forward to 2015.

1) Being Healthier
A resolution of sorts, yes. Towards the end of 2014, I made a great start on losing weight. I managed to shift 23lbs, which I think is fantastic. Admittedly, about 5lbs of that did creep back on over the Christmas season, but I’m looking forward to further improving my health. No fad diets here. Just diet and exercise. Losing weight will improve my PCOS symptoms and help me to concieve, as well as helping me to be more confident and happier in the long run.

2) Getting Help with Conceiving
In the trying to conceive world, I’m looking forward to getting my referral to the hospital and finishing off the testing. I then look forward to getting some assistance from an actual specialist and not just a GP with a superiority complex. I don’t know how it will all go. I don’t know if the treatment will work. But what I do know is that it will be nice to have some guidance on this confusing path.

3) Being Happy
I’ve made a promise to myself to be overall more positive in 2015. We went through a lot of crap in both 2013 and 2014, so this is the year that it IS going to get better. I know that because Amy and I will make it better. No more wasting time on “friends” who don’t have time for us. No more busting our guts on thankless tasks. No more stressing about things that just don’t matter. I’m going to try this year to look at the good in things. Amy and I have eachother. We have two wonderful dogs, we both have a job and a roof over our heads. Anything else is a bonus.

That’s pretty much it for me in 2015. Healthier, happier and on a less confusing path to our family. I really hope that this is a great year. I hope it’s the one for all of us who are still waiting patiently for our babies, but if it isn’t I hope it is a great one otherwise.

I also hope this little one gets better at peeing outside. As an aside…
